The 94th Kisei tournament is in progress. Semifinal games of Akira Watanabe vs Daichi Sasaki and Takuya Nagase vs Yuki Sasaki were played on 20th April. Both games were double wing attack opening.
Daichi Sasaki defeated Akira Watanabe. Daichi Sasaki got the pace in the middle of the game and he secured the advantage until the end of the game.
The winner of the other game was Nagase, but it was not an easy game. Nagase got an advantage in the middle, but Yuki Sasaki fought back. Nagase chased Sasaki’s rook with knight, and it seems that Sasaki made a mistake about escaping his rook. After that Nagase expand his lead until the end of the game.
The final game will be played on 24th April. The winner will earn the right to challenge to Souta Fujii, current Kisei Crown.
