The 3rd round of the Osho battle will be held on 28th and 29th in January. The current title holder Sota Fujii is accepting a challenge from Yoshiharu Habu. The current score is 1-1. After Fujii won the 1st round, Habu revenged. The scene of next game is Kanazawa city, Ishikawa prefecture.
It has been a custom that title battles are held in many places where municipality or local organization invite and offer their venue. What is unique for Osho battle is that the winner of the each round of game wear funny costume and take a photo to promote the city. The 1st round was held in Kakegawa city, Shizuoka prefecture, and Fujii was taken photos that he is taming parakeets and a red tail hawk. At 2nd round, the winner Habu was taken photos with costume of “Takoyaki” shop salesperson, which is the famous local food in Osaka prefecture. The Kanazawa city, 3rd round venue, is famous for beautiful scene of old Japan. The most famous place is Kenrokuen which is classified as one of Japan’s three most beautiful landscape garden alongside Mito’s Kairakuen and Okayama’s Korakuen. The spacious grounds used to be the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle and were constructed by the ruling Maeda family over a period of nearly two centuries. Opened to the public in 1871, Kenrokuen features a variety of flowering trees which provide the garden with a different look for each season. Other than the Kenrokuen, there are many places to visit in Kanazawa. Most of them have atmosphere of the Edo era. So, I guess the winner’s costume will be a kind of traditional style one.
