The 3rd round of Osho battle commenced on 28th-Jan. Sota Fujii, the current Osho title holder, is the first move (first move side is called black, and the opponent is white. It is opposite from the chess). Fujii started the game by P-2f which is his usual move. He is pure static rook player and he has never swung the rook in official games. On the other hand, Yoshiharu Habu is an all-around player. Habu doesn’t shun any opening style, even he likes to accept opponent’s favorite opening. This time, Habu’s tactics was to procrastinate his positioning of rook. Until 12 moves, Habu developed his left side of pieces only which enabled him to choose both static rook and swinging rook. Fujii had to make his mind which castling he will make, and at 13 moves, he moved his King to 6h. After watching the decision, Habu finally proceeded his right side pawn to 8d meaning his decision was static rook with ”Gangi” castling. Although it is not make Habu better so much, the skillful tactics made audience feeling Habu is such a good bargainer. It is said that the first move person (black) has little advantage from the beginning because the one usually can decide the style of the openings. But Habu tried to draw the game to his territory to overcome the disadvantage.
After the day 1, the situation is even so far. Habu made the closing move. The game will be resumed tomorrow, and the winner will be found in the evening.
